Varsity Brands Announces Partnership with SchoolGuard

May 8, 2018

-- Varsity Brands’ IMPACT program to now include SchoolGuard’s simple, powerful safety tool as part of core offering --

DALLAS –Varsity Brands,  the leading organization that empowers young people by encouraging participation, recognizing achievement and building community and school spirit , today announced that it has partnered with SchoolGuard, a provider of safety solutions for schools within the K-12 education space.  SchoolGuard will be offered as part of Varsity Brands’ IMPACT program, through which schools partner with the best in class leaders in sport, spirit and achievement – BSN SPORTS for uniform and equipment needs, Varsity Spirit for all things cheer and dance and Herff Jones for every graduation and yearbook need.

Consistent with this mission, SchoolGuard will be presented as one of the select solutions for schools, who will benefit from SchoolGuard’s safety app feature for administration, teachers and staff of a school to utilize in case of an emergency on campus. The company was founded by veteran police officer Nate McVicker and has currently partnered with hundreds of schools, as well as corporate and government facilities throughout the nation.

John Newby, President of the IMPACT Program, explained, “Our school partnership program mission is clear: to provide customized solutions for a school’s unique needs. This includes a diverse range of resources, from professional school branding to educational courses, and a character building program, called Believe in You, hosted by Kevin Atlas. All of these resources provide schools the opportunity to transform their campus, culture and climate. We must also acknowledge, however, that students, faculty and staff cannot be inspired for greater achievement if they don’t all feel safe and protected. SchoolGuard provides a simple and highly-effective app in this respect, and we look forward to working with Nate and his team to leverage the IMPACT Program to help ensure the schools we serve benefit from this emergency alert technology.”

Mr. McVicker added, “We developed SchoolGuard because we knew it was time for action in the form of a powerful, simple technology that dramatically shortens the timeline between an active shooter and subsequent police action. The IMPACT partnership is important for making SchoolGuard more accessible to more campuses. We are tremendously excited about the future of this partnership because together we can safeguard schools nationwide.”
