Brentwood High Yearbook Named Most Spirited in the Country

They’ve got spirit, and Brentwood High School’s yearbook team won the award to prove it.

Varsity Brands recently named the BHS yearbook the Most Spirited Yearbook in the country. Nominees created a pride-themed yearbook with the personality to make it worthy of the Most Spirited title.

BHS’s yearbook, entitled “You Are Here,” did just that.

“We wanted to focus on the idea of being present and also being a part of the larger community of Brentwood,” said yearbook adviser Katharine Urmy. “It was important for us to accurately portray what it was like to be part of the fabric of Brentwood High School.”

The 40 members of the yearbook team were happy to see their yearlong project pay off.

“My students now know firsthand that anything is possible,” Urmy said. “With hard work, dedication and a team mentality, huge goals can be achieved.”

As the creators of the Most Spirited Yearbook, the BHS yearbook team received a trophy and $10,000 to go toward its fund for next year’s yearbook, which is already looking to be another winner.

“We have interviewed and selected a new staff,” said Urmy. “We have also met with a cover artist and plan to go to yearbook camp in July.  Next year’s team is solid.”
