January 10, 2022, Farmers Branch, TX — BSN SPORTS, the nation’s largest direct marketer and distributor of sporting goods to the school and league markets and a division of Varsity Brands, today announced that it has acquired SportsCenter Inc. based in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Founded in 1992, the business has remained a family-owned operation under the management of Tom and Kevin Rodenbeck. SportsCenter quickly gained a well-respected reputation among local youth, high school and collegiate athletic programs for their personalized service and relationships. Through this acquisition, BSN SPORTS welcomes the current owners and the full SportsCenter sales and support staff onto its platform to continue serving customers from their current location, which will be transitioned to a BSN SPORTS sales office.
Under the SportsCenter umbrella, the Rodenbecks also manage an apparel decoration business which will remain within their ownership and join BSN SPORTS’ extensive and third-party decoration network. This acquisition signals a healthy start to 2022 for BSN SPORTS, quickly following the addition of Team Sports Ink in Nevada announced just earlier this week.
